Description
I was not prepared for this tragic day. When I first heard about the news, I hung my mouth open in disbelief, then stayed silent for a while. After than, I decided to sit down and watch the past works that Adam West has done, including his appearance in Batman: The Animated Series as Simon Trent/The Gray Ghost, Catman in Fairly OddParents, himself as the Mayor of Quahog in Family Guy, and especially Batman: The Movie and Batman: Return of the Caped Crusader. Adam West has inspired many of us, and even though that his Batman is campy and silly, let's not forget that he helped bringing DC's Dark Knight to pop culture, as he lead many others like Michael Keaton, Kevin Conroy, and Christian Bale to further carry his torch for the legacy of Batman.
We may have lost our first Dark Knight of the popular media, but his legacy will never be forgotten

I read that quote, and I just remembered just how much DC/Time/Warner did him dirty. They basically told him to go scurry away because BATMAN is getting DARK and BROODING again and they didn't want his mere presence to ruin it...then they gave us the Schumacher Batman & Robin flick, which was far sillier and campier than anything Adam West has ever done.
